Description:
Actually a Maple by genus, English Sycamore is nearly white in color with a fine, close texture and a straight grain which, in this sample, is crossed with a fine fiddleback figure. It accepts stain readily and can be dyed to many colors, most popularly a silver gray.
Applications:
Select logs are sliced for highly decorative veneers for architectural paneling, custom cabinets, inlay, and marquetry. It is an excellent choice for stained or dyed veneers in a range of colors.
