The figure disorts the cathedral pattern common to flat cut veneers. Applications: Swiss Pearwood is used in marquetry and furniture as well as for mechanical drawing instruments and fine rulers. It is popular architecturally for panels, doors, and accent installations for a subtle, soft background grain with mottling.
