Sycamore, Flat cut, Figured
Description:
Actually a Maple by genus, English Sycamore is nearly white in color with a fine, close texture and a straight grain which may, as in this case, be figured. Flat cut Sycamore shows the characteristic cathedral pattern. English Sycamore readily accepts stains and can be dyed to many colors, most popularly a silver gray.
Applications:
Select logs are sliced for highly decorative veneers for architectural paneling, custom cabinets, inlay, and marquetry. It is an excellent choice for stained or dyed veneers in a range of colors.
